Inside the Britney Spears Explosive Tell All: Britney Under Siege (Image: Wenn)
Looking healthier and acting more rationally than she has in years, Britney Spears seems well on the road to recovery, but a new book Stalking Britney: Britney Under Siege by author Ian Halperin cautions that the 26-year-old may not be out of the woods yet"She's on a high right now, but her life goes in circles," investigative journalist Ian Halperin says in an interview with In Touch. “It’s like a roller coaster ride. She’s a person who is highly sensitive, and just one little thing could set her off."

According to the report from In Touch Weekly, in his explosive upcoming tell-all book, Stalking Britney: Britney Under Siege, the New York Times bestselling author explores the secret pain that he alleges drove Britney to attempt suicide four times following her split from ex-husband Kevin Federline. Halperin researched this sensational book during 18 months undercover as a photographer.
The pressures of her career - which began at 12 as one of the youngest cast members on The New Mickey Mouse Club - led to her deep insecurities. “At 15, she had a huge breakdown and had to return home to Louisiana,” he reveals. “She was very insecure and felt like she wasn’t pretty." But rather than get help, Britney focused on her outward appearance: “She went on a huge diet.”

The report claims that today Britney is on medication, but Halperin believes she’s far from recovered. “There’s no doubt, based on the last two years, that she is a highly unstable person,” he observes. “She’s on a temporary high right now, but she’s never really dealt with all the problems she had. I don’t think it’s possible to turn over a new leaf just like that.”
Yet as far as Halperin is concerned, Britney deserves to get better — and to lead a happy life. She’s a “good mother, and a good person,” he says. “In fact, she’s nicer than most of the stars I’ve met. But as Britney once told me herself, her life has always been two steps forward, followed by one step back.”

Britney Spears has reportedly launched a bid to return to the MTV stage for the forthcoming Video Music Awards accompanied by U.S. Olympic champion Michael Phelps.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton claims the eight-time Olympic gold medal winner is slated to appear as part of the outlandish awards show next month (Sep08).
Rumours of Spears' performance at the show were scrapped by manager Larry Rudolph earlier this week.
But, according to magazine Us Weekly, the Toxic singer is desperate to appear on the show as a presenter.
A source tells the magazine: "She hopes to share the stage with Michael Phelps."

With her personal and professional lives finally getting back on track, it had appeared likely in recent weeks that Britney Spears would attempt to make a image-reversing performance at September's MTV Video Music Awards. But alas, says her manager, that doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
"Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year's VMAs," says Larry Rudolph, Brit's manager, who was re-hired earlier this year after months of erratic behavior by the pop star. "She's in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio."
One year later, a much-improved 26-year-old appeared to be opening the door to a VMA performance with a pair of recorded promotional pieces for the awards show with this year's host, British comedian Russell Brand.
However, it should be noted that, while Rudolph says Britney won't be performing live during the Sept. 7 broadcast from L.A., he said nothing about her being too busy to make a brief appearance either in person at the ceremony or on videotape. The singer's hit, "Piece of Me" is nominated for Video of the Year.
We caught our girl Brit looking downright exhausted after a workout yesterday. Hey, with the kind of hardcore workouts Britney subjects herself to, we'd be worn out too!
The popstar Britney Spears, is planning to hit the stores with a new fragrance.
"I want something fresh, for the summer! Like a combination of lemon and mint, I don't want anything too heavy!" - says the pop singer, to an insider.
With already 5 perfumes since 2004 ("Curious", "Curious: In Control", "Fantasy", "Fantasy: Midnight" and "Believe"), the irreplaceable Britney wants a new and fragrance.
According to reports, Britney's new fragrance will be called "Powerful".
Britney still in negotiations, to create a new perfume, the "Toxic" mommy wants something smelly for her sons, Jayden and Preston, wear.
LOS ANGELES – Britney Spears won't perform on this year's MTV Video Music Awards, according to her manager.
"Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year's VMAs," Larry Rudolph, Spears' manager at Jive Records,
said in a statement. "She's in the middle of recording her next album,
which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio."
Spears' "Gimme More"
comeback performance during last year's VMAs was one of the
most-talked-about moments of 2007. The tabloid queen is currently
appearing in spots promoting this year's ceremony.
In June, MTV Networks
Music Group President Van Toffler said the network wasn't ruling out
giving viewers another dose of Spears at the VMAs. MTV later confirmed
they were in talks to have Spears appear in some capacity. The
rebounding pop queen is nominated for video of the year for "Piece of Me."
This VMAs will air live Sept. 7 from Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. Previously announced award show performers include Kid Rock, Lil Wayne, Pink, Rihanna, Paramore, T.I. and the Jonas Brothers.
As her path to her former glory continues, celebrities are unwavering in their support for Britney Spears.
Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz admitted that he voted for the singer's Piece Of Me video for inclusion in MTV's Video Music Awards.
"It was awesome. I got to meet the elephant (in the video)," he recalled to People.com at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
"Britney really proves how much the fans really matter, because the fans really want to see Britney win and turn it around."
Meanwhile, Paris Hilton has also shown her backing for her former party buddy - the twosome's famous outfit swap was well-documented.
"I love Britney. I think she looks so beautiful right now," she gushed to Extra at the launch party for her new line of hair extensions, the Bandit.
"I'm really happy for her. She looks amazing and she better win the VMAs. She's the best."
Britney, who has denied that she plans to perform at the September 7 ceremony in Los Angeles, has snagged three nominations in the VMAs for her video Piece Of Me, including Video Of The Year, Best Female and Best Pop Video.
EXCLUSIVE: Britney Spears Is a Tricky Girl to Catch
Hollywood.TV's cameras were barely keeping up when they spotted Britney Spears in this exclusive clip.
The
Toxic star was spotted with entourage heading into a doorway in L.A.
Not much really, but a sighting's a sighting. In Britney news there's
been a mention about the much rumored MTV appearance. Apparently it's a
no go. On Air with Ryan Seacrest read a statement from Britney's
manager, Larry Rudolph. 'Britney Spears will not be performing at the
VMAs this year. I’m telling you officially and unequivocally'.
Okay, so she won't sing. But that doesn't mean she won't show up, right?
Wentz was there when Spears made a promo for the awards show. "I got to meet the elephant
[in the video]," he says. "It was awesome. Britney really proves how
much the fans really matter, because the fans really want to see
Britney win and turn it around."
August 25th,
2008: The paps caught up with Britney Monday afternoon. She was out
shopping with her bodyguard at Pottery Barn, checking out the scented
candles and whatnot. Just my opinion, but it seems like something very
well could be going on between Brit and the bodyguard. They seem a
little "coupley" going through the Pottery Barn. It's subtle but its
there.

Guy Ritchie Explains Britney Spears' Madonna Cameo
Madonna's husband Guy

appearance in his wife's new stage show - it was based on a real-life
incident.
The pop superstar kicked off her Sticky + Sweet tour
in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday (23Aug08) and the concert included a
special video appearance from Spears, who is seen dancing in an
elevator.
And Ritchie admits that Spears' role in the show was created after Madonna saw a video of a similar incident.
He says, "Britney
in the lift is based on real footage the missus saw of someone stuck in
a lift for 48 hours. The dancing is inspired by what happened inside."
August 25, 2008 (Sawf News) - Ryan Seacrest read out an email from Britney's manager Larry Rudolph on his KIIS-FM show Monday morning, August 25, in which Larry termed a recent report on E! that Britney would be performing on MTV VMAs on September 7 as "just wrong."

Shar Jackson Gets a Birthday Hug from Kevin Federline
Among Shar Jackson's guest list for her 32nd birthday party: family, friends and Kevin Federline.
The father of four – including two children with Jackson – was at Las Vegas's Blush Nightclub on Friday helping his ex celebrate, and even giving her a birthday hug.
"We were friends before we were a couple and we're always going to be friends," Jackson told PEOPLE at Wynn Las Vegas before entering the party. "We have two amazing kids together. Kevin is my boy."
She's not kidding. Their reunion came only a few hours after the two hung out together in a VIP cabana at Tao Beach with friends and family.
Jackson, however, insists that there is no talk of rekindling the flame. "We have passed that stage."
Jackson's party was the first stop for Federline in night that saw him dropping by newly opened Lavo, Tao and Prive Las Vegas, where Jackson also joined him.
After seeing each other for the third time in 12 hours, Federline took a break from partying at a table in the club's kitchen, then headed to the deejay booth to publicly wish Jackson a happy birthday into a microphone.
While rumors persist that Federline's other ex, Britney Spears, may be planning a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards next month, she has a backer in Jackson.
"I hope she does it, I hope she goes for it and kills it," Jackson said.
The Top 10 Opening Moments In VMA History: From Madonna To The Present
When you begin with stars like Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Diddy, it's bound to be a memorable evening.
The VMAs are synonymous with wacky and controversial moments. And those particularly unpredictable opening acts have made the show stand out from all those stuffy Hollywood kudosfests. That's why, in preparation for this year's big show on September 7, we dug into the MTV vaults to bring you the top 10 most memorable show starters in VMA history.
1. What else could top our list than the VMAs' ultimate
girlie-action moment? Bringing our list full-circle back to "Like a
Virgin," Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera,
both dressed as brides, entered the stage together. They were soon
joined by Madge herself, dressed as a groom, who then locked lips with
each of the pop tarts. Britney later told CNN, "I didn't know it was
going to be that long and everything." But are we sure glad it was!
3. Although it wasn't exactly the peak of Britney's great VMA performances, this was the one that had people talking for months after the show aired from Las Vegas. Her 2007 train wreck, in which she lazily "danced" and lip-synched her way through "Gimme More" in an ill-fitting bikini, left people wanting less.
